Healing Exercises >>> Stomach Rubbing

If we have to pick only one exercise that could restore our health, it is the "Stomach Rubbing" exercise. This exercise could help any or all (simple, acute, chronic) problems. There are many variations of stomach rubbing exercises; some are very specialized and require different oils depending upon the person's needs. But in the following text, we are presenting the simplest, most effective, and could be practiced by the individual self. Moreover, the following exercises could be practiced even with stomach ulcers.

Stomach Rubbing

  1. Begin by lying down flat on your back. Relax. Make sure that your knees are bent, and your feet are in a flat position.
  2. Put the palm of your hand on your navel. (If you are right-handed, use your right hand; if left-handed, use your left hand.)
  3. Start to rub clockwise from the center—that is, from right to left—first in small circles and then gradually expand the movement until the upper and lower limits of the stomach and abdomen are rubbed.
  4. When you have completed the first movement, reverse it, rubbing counterclockwise in smaller and smaller circles until you are back to the center of the navel.
  5. Repeat this clockwise and counterclockwise motion as often as you wish. Just keep in mind that you need not press down with any force. Instead, apply a slight pressure as you rub slowly. Make sure you drink plenty of water every day.

Stomach Rubbing (Brisker Version)

This exercise brings more stimulation and energy to the abdomen than the regular version, so it can be used for debilitating diseases of the internal organs and peristaltic problems. In addition, it is perfect for trimming down the girth. You can just repeat this exercise as many times as you wish.

  1. You may begin this exercise by rubbing the palms of the hands together vigorously.
  2. Lay down flat on your back. Relax. Make sure that your knees are bent, and your feet are in a flat position.
  3. Place the hands, palms down, on the lower abdomen, so they lie on either side of the navel.
  4. Now begin to rub both sides of the abdomen briskly, as shown in the figure.
  5. Rub so that both hands meet near the navel on the downswing.
  6. Keep on rubbing until the friction heats the abdominal tissues.
  7. Remember that you need not press down with any force. Instead, apply a slight pressure as you rub slowly. Make sure you drink plenty of water every day.

What Clockwise and Counter-Clockwise rotation does

When we rub in a clockwise direction, we encourage proper and easy bowel movement. Constipation is often a symptom indicating that the large intestine is over-functioning. The large intestine absorbs too much water from the waste matter as it passes through on its way to the rectum. This causes the waste matter to be compacted to the point where the regular peristaltic activity of the large intestine is not sufficient to expel the waste matter. As a result, constipation results and fecal material that would typically have been passed on through the anus are stored in the body. The clockwise motion augments the peristaltic activity and slows the water removal process to normal levels.

Rubbing in a counterclockwise motion has the opposite effect, helping solidify fecal material as it passes through the intestine. It does this by stimulating the passage of water from the large intestine to the kidneys.
